✅ Young Boys - Atalanta [Champions League]

Match starts: Tuesday, 23.11.2021 at 21:00 (GMT+1)

Situation in group F is very interesting, as things are truly looking wide open. With just 4 points separating the first and last place, all 4 teams can technically still finish in the top 2 and qualify for knock-out phase of the tournament. The Italians have a nice chance here to improve their current standing, as top 2 teams of the group - Villarreal and Manchester United - are playing against eachother.

After the initial and unexpected success in the first match against Manchester United, Young Boys have lost all following group stage matches. If they lose against Atalanta at the Wankdorf Stadium, they will be nailed to the last spot and will lose all chances to progress from the group. They are on a four-game winless run in all competitions coming into this game, which doesn't give the Swiss much confidence before the game with Atalanta. They are not doing great in the Swiss Super League, as they are currently 4th and trailing 6 points behind Zurich. If they do not improve their form quickly, they will surely have to let go of the dream of winning the league title 5 times in a row. The game with Atalanta could not come at a worse time for them as well, as their next league match on Sunday is against Zurich. They are usually a team that scores and concedes goals very often. The only option for them to keep their chances of progressing alive, is that they win against Atalanta. So they must play offensively and must try to score goals, which means that they will also leave more open space for Atalanta to attack and score.

Missing players: M. Camara (injury), C. Fassnacht (injury), J. Monteiro (injury), C. Zesiger (injury), D. von Ballmoos (injury)

Questionable players: J. Nsame (injury), E. Petignat (injury)

Atalanta is in a situation, where win against Young Boys would be very much appreciated. Their last group stage match will be against Villarreal, so they should definitely try to win against the Swiss, who are theoretically not as strong as the Spaniards. They are a goal-scoring machine, but they usually also concede easily, as they lack some compactness and structure while defending. They feel much more comfortable with the ball at their feet and in the last couple of seasons they showed us what they're capable of offensively. In Serie A they average 3.4 goals per match this season and are doing quite well in general. Currently, they are 4th and 7 points behind Napoli and Milan at first 2 spots. In Champions League, they are currently sitting below spots that lead to knock-out phase, but they have literally everything in their hands as they are playing Young Boys and Villarreal in last two rounds of the group stage. So far, 3 out of their 4 matches finished with over 3.5 goals scored and they hold a breathtaking average of 4 goals per match.

Missing players: R. Gosens (injury), H. Hateboer (injury), M. Lovato (injury)

Both teams see this match as an opportunity to get crucial 3 points before the last game of the group stage. They will have to play attacking football and open up to their opponents if they wish to get a positive result. Atalanta is a better team here, but Young Boys have shown that they are capable of upsetting bigger teams and have definitely shown that they can score goals, as well as concede a lot. In my opinion, the odds for betting over the goal line bring a lot of value and are much higher than they should be. For those that like to take bigger risks, I would even recommend betting over 4.5 goal line, as a high scoring draw or a win for Atalanta are the most probable outcomes here.

Best of luck!
