✅ Manchester United - Manchester City [Premier League]

Match starts: Saturday, 06.11.2021 at 13:30 (GMT+1)

The first Manchester derby of this season awaits and it is definitely the most interesting fixture on Saturday. A club with great history against a club with great present, topped with fierce local rivalry.

Manchester United are currently 5th and very inconsistent in their performances. Fans expected a lot from them after having a successful 2019-2020 season and finishind 2nd in Premier League and reaching finals of the Europa League. Expectations were even higher after bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane in the summer, with no notable departures aside from youngster Daniel James. But they weren't able to really catch the winning rhytm so far, dropping too many points in domestic league. They have been relatively successful in Champions League, but all of their wins can pretty much be credited to Cristiano Ronaldo and his late-game winners. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his squad are under immense pressue to start producing expected results and I'm not sure that they will be able to do that until they make some major changes.

Missing players: R. Varane (injury), P. Pogba (red card)

Manchester City are currently 3rd in Premier League, just 2 points behind Liverpool and 5 points behind Chelsea. They have been in a good form this season, but they are coming to Old Trafford after a defeat against Crystal Palace in front of their own fans and will surely look forward to jumping back on the winning course. It is clear that City are favourites here, even though they're playing away from home. They have a very strong and compact squad all-around, with 7 players scoring at least 2 goals in Premier League so far. Champions League campaign is also going well for them, as they are currently 1st in their group. Out of all top-tier teams, Manchester City probably has the most depth in their squad which is a huge advantage and it helped them keep up the good performances in all competitions for last couple of seasons.

Missing players: F. Torres (injury), B. Mendy (suspension), A. Laporte (red card), L. Delap (injury)

It will definitely be an interesting match to watch and surely we will see some goals as both of the teams are very strong in front of the opponent's goal. It is never clear who Pep Guardiola is going to put in the starting eleven, but I believe that they're stronger no matter which lineup he chooses to pick. Manchester United simply lack too much quality to prevail over their local rivals and they would need a moment of brilliance from their whole squad, not just Cristiano Ronaldo this time.

Best of luck!
