Match starts: Sunday, 07.11.2021 at 15:00 (GMT+1)
The second Sunday pick is a match between Everton and Tottenham. Both teams are currently sitting in the middle of the table and have shown mostly underwhelming performances so far this season.
Both teams had a good start of the season, taking wins in 3 out of their first 4 matches. After that, their performances dropped significantly and they started dropping down the table. Honestly, this is actually a quite realistic situation for both teams. They might soon climb up the ladder a bit and dwell around that 6th - 8th place, but in my opinion they lack too much quality to reach the spots that qualify for European competitions this year.
Everton opened the season in a very good fashion, they had no problems scoring goals and looked firm in the defense. After scoring in the first 3 matches, Calwert-Lewin got injured and they have really been struggling to score goals since his injury. There were some good performances, but also bad ones where they lost to much weaker teams like Watford and Aston Villa. Their last win was against Norwich on 25th September and they're currently on a 6-game winless streak. They have been in bad attacking and defending form and they will have to improve quickly if they wish to get back in the top 10 spots.
Missing players: D. Calwert-Lewin (injury), A. Doucoure (injury), A. Gomes (injury), Y. Mina (injury)
Tottenham is coming to Goodison Park after 2 consecutive Premier League defeats. Antonio Conte took over the Spurs in beginning of November and he is looking to earn his first Premier League points after leaving Chelsea in 2018. Tottenham won their first match under Conte (ECL vs Vitesse) but we are yet to see what impact will Conte's return bring to the Premier League, where Tottenham haven't been in a good shape. They have been extremely poor in terms of scoring goals, with only 9 goals scored in 10 matches and second worst scoring record in the league, just above Norwich (5 goals scored). Much of that can be attributed to Harry Kane's terrible scoring form in the Premier League with just 1 goal scored, even though he is Tottenham's best scorer over all competitions this season.
Missing players: R. Sessegnon (injury), B. Gil (injury)
Due to bad current form and trouble with scoring goals, I do not see these 2 teams netting more than 2 goals. A change of manager usually reflects in a good manner and Tottenham did score 3 goals in their last match against Vitesse, but Premier League is on a completely different level.
Best of luck!
